The Piratebay wants you to be able to download a car, so they have added a 3D printing section to their website. Shown above is a printed version of the PirateBay logo, straight from Piratebay.
For The Pirate Bay team simply copying bits and bytes is not enough. They want you to ‘download a car’, literally, so with that goal in mind they added a 3D-printing section to their website last month. A Gimmick? Not really. Canadian Charles Randall is one of the first to show off his new ‘physible’ Pirate Bay ship, downloaded off BitTorrent and printed in three dimensions. The auto industry is shaking in its boots.
ngl I am really excited for the day when 3-d printers become widely available/useful
speaking of this, isn’t there a Cory Doctorow short story about exactly this sort of thing?
it’s times like this that i wish i wasn’t so pitifully horrible at 3D rendering, and that i didn’t fall flat on my face every time i attempted to suck less
because 3d printing is the future, mang
also the pirate bay is composed of gods
Are you thinking what I’m thinking
Because I’m thinking torrenting BJD parts.
Just like, leaked rips of upcoming sculpts ahahafsdfsfd
Because I assume as soon as 3-D printers become more available (which I absolutely promise to all of you, it will be VERY SOON), 3-D scanners will follow suit.
Also can you IMAGINE all those video game models that are out there? And you can just say “Hmm I want a John Freeman statue” and just pop a HL2 rebel model in, pose it, and PRINT.
Someone print me a life-size Joel.
Fuck that. I’m printing me an edible pizza.
